Northern State University seeks one full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology with a start date of August 2025.

Qualifications: Our department is seeking an individual with a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field. ABD candidates with a completion date of no later than August 2025 will be considered. We are looking for a versatile biologist and candidates with expertise in microbiology or human biology (e.g., Anatomy & Physiology) are preferred. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to undergraduate education and demonstrate the potential to be an exceptional teacher.

Responsibilities: The applicant will teach twelve credit hours per semester in a variety of undergraduate courses including General Biology as well as courses in the candidate's area of specialty, depending upon the expertise of the applicant and departmental needs. Teaching is our primary focus, and the successful candidate should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education. However, the successful candidate will also be required to develop a modest research program and to participate in university service activities. This position is based in the Department of Science and Mathematics, which offers degrees in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology Education, Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Secondary Science Education
